Introduction: Mediation Services I have over 20 years of mediation experience in workplace/employment and family/community/neighbor mediation. I've been a certified mediator for Prince George County, Maryland, since 2013. I enjoy helping conflicting parties come to agreements and create breakthroughs where each leave being able to work together harmoniously. In our session you will learn your role and what the mediator's role is in the introduction. Most importantly you will be empowered to resolveconflicts by using the mediation tools available in your session. By choosing Conquering Conflict Together, many clients have saved money by resolving their conflicts before having to take them to court. The fee for this service is $150.00 per meeting. A customer can save $25.00 a meeting if s/he pays for three meetings in advance. Proofreading Services My proofreading skills include reviewing documents for spelling and editing them for clarity. The fee for this service is $75.00 per hour.

I manage the Interagency Sharing Neutrals Program (SNs). SNs is an interagency mediation program that provides free mediation services to federal agencies throughout the metropolitan Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. SNs primarily provides mediation services in equal employment opportunity (EEO) cases and workplace disputes. Ms. Bowman has been an outstanding member of SNs since 1998. During that time Ms. Bowman has mediated hundreds of cases for the program, with a majority of those cases ending in a resolution. Ms. Bowman's background and experience in civil rights, EEO, and as a manager make her uniquely qualified for a conflict resolution professional. In addition to her background, Ms. Bowman is an outstanding communicator. She is able to listen objectively while honing in on each parties' underlying interest. Very few mediators are requested again and again. Ms. Bowman is one of those mediators. I highly recommend Ms. Bowman to anyone seeking a competent mediation professional.

Lynda is a very devoted person. She meant to help me and the other party to understand each other's situations. She was very professional in dealing with us. Though conversations were very critical, we were able to resolve the conflict with her mediating among us. It was wonderful to have Lynda as our mediator.

I think Ms. Bowman is a wonderful person and may be excellent in other services that she offers, e.g. school children tutoring or document editing. I sought her mediation services however and I should have known better, as that far and wide range of skills did not look promising. She does not have any skills in dispute mediation and should not offer this as a service.

Ms. Bowman is an excellent tutor who is committed to assisting children achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. As a former Co-Coordinator of the Saturday Tutoring Program sponsored by the Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I worked with Ms. Bowen for nearly 8 years. During this time, I personally observed her ability to work with elementary school students. She is highly qualified to teach math, reading comprehension and other subjects using novel and easy-to-learn methods that appeal to students at all grade levels. Her personal style and ability to relate to and communicate effectively with students allows her to establish a productive learning relationship with her students. Students are never talked down to nor does she become impatient with them. If someone does not grasp a concept, she simply begins again or tries another approach. Patient and observant, Ms. Bowman engages her students and seeks to get to know them on an individual basis. She encourages them to share their academic achievements as well as their challenges and defeats. By encouraging this type of interpersonal interaction, she is able to foster an environment where students are willing to work with each other, share their talents, and become more confident in their abilities. Ms. Bowman provides intellectually stimulating assignments that not only build upon the students existing knowledge base but also challenges them to develop the best approach for solving any academic issues they face. Her instruction is focused and results in a deepening of students study skills, confidence in asking for and receiving help, and academic mastery. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The fee for mediation is $150.00 for the first hour. The balance must be paid at the conclusion of the first session, a session is 3 hours or less. If the customers pay for 3 hours before or when the first meeting, they will get a $25.00 discount per meeting. The fee for proof reading is $75.00 per hour. The initial payment for one hour must be received before the work starts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In each mediation, we generally work through these 5 steps: 1. I'll explain the rules of mediation to include the roles of the parties and the mediator. 2. The mediator will gather all relevant information. 3. The mediator will outline each party's needs and interests. When the mediator identifies what areas the parties agree upon, s/he will ask the parties which terms they agree on. 4. The parties will negotiate the terms and the mediator will write the terms are, present them to the parties to ensure that they are both of the same understanding. 5. The mediator will draft an agreement based on what terms the parties agree on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of mediation experience and have been a certified mediator for Prince George's County, Maryland, since 2013. Much of my experience has been with workplace/employment disputes, having been a collateral duty Equal Opportunity (EEO) counselor and mediator. As a branch chief in the EEO area where I taught mediation and secured mediation for my employees to conduct. I was also trained in community/neighbor mediation, and recently I was successful by helping an employee and her supervisor agree on terms that the employee was able to stay in the United States. conducted my mediation for a client who was facing deportation. I refresh my mediation skills by attending mediation training each year.
