Introduction: I have been a contractor for my own federally incorporated consulting firm for over 6 years. Regarding Excel, it is my favorite software. I began teaching five levels of Lotus 1-2-3 many years ago, and when Microsoft Excel replaced it, I continued with Excel. I enjoy working with Excel so much that I don't consider it work, but more of an interesting challenge. I have done some Excel projects in the past few years. For example, a graphic design firm contracted me to produce many Excel (Word and PowerPoint) documents for a very large professional organization. These documents had very specific requirements as far as colors, fonts and spacing are concerned. Some documents even required the use of graphs. Some other examples are a 3GB spreadsheet to the government for project budgeting, and another for project dashboards. I also prepared a spreadsheet with survey features using radio buttons and other visual basic features. Another use, which has been working without incident for 5 years, is a spreadsheet program for sales quotes and pipeline tracking that pulls for a client database. You may notice from my LinkedIn profile that I generally run a school to teach Project Management Professional exam prep classes. As I only teach five non-consecutive days a month, I have quite a bit of time to fill, and would greatly enjoy providing more great spreadsheets to clients. Being a PMP (Project Management Professional), I excel in collecting and tracking requirements -- an important element of a successful project. As a certified professional in project management, my projects are always successful, or they are determined 'early' to have unobtainable objectives, so funds are not wasted.
