Amazing experience and work! Coricka arrived prepared and was extremely informative. She had shoe covers ready before I could offer her some when I opened the door. Once she inspected the existing issue, stained grout from previous owners and failing caulk, she gave me a thorough breakdown of what to expect. The grout had been covered in some places by epoxy in an attempt to cover the stains so removal would be a challenge. Coricka also recommended I place a dehumidifier in the bathroom until I install an exhaust fan to help prevent the issue from returning. I was given the option of just regrouping the shower or doing the regrout and then steaming and staining the grout in the rest of the bathroom to match the new color grout I’d selected. I went with the latter.
When Coricka returned with her technician, they reviewed the plan with me, talked through details together and cemented the game plan for my job. It required a full day to remove the caulk and grout, and the tech kept me informed along the way. I was able to view the work at several intervals and he let me know what to look for in the future when working with tile. The tech even let me know what steps to take once I found the replacement tiles for two original pieces that had handles broken off. He also filled in gaping around the base of the walls and the tub and floor and sealed it with caulk. I am beyond pleased, especially since the tiles were not installed in straight lines. The work quality is fantastic and has made a world of difference. Looking forward to deglazing the tub next and elevating the bathroom even more. I will be working with The Grout Medic team again when it is time to care for the black and white checkered tile in my basement!
