Introduction: I work as a Beat Sports writer (covering NBA, NFL, and college basketball). As a sports reporter, my focus is on breaking news, beat reporting, strong game and event coverage, and source development. I am a part of a more extensive team responsible for regional, as well as national sports coverage, and will work across multiple formats. I work with the regional sports editor, reporting to the assistant regional sports editor not just to set priorities, but also to develop enterprise reporting and aggressive spot for the global newspaper audience. The following are my responsibilities: - I identify and create stories that break news and have influence. - I identify key sources and create a beat that guarantees outlet is competitive on the most crucial sports stories in the territory. - I organize and coordinate freelancers for sports coverage as required in state. - I work with staff videographers and photographers and other platform experts to make sure complete and robust coverage of games and events. - I report and write compelling, accurate stories on deadline in competitive situations.
