- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Simple editing (checking grammar, spelling, syntax, and proofreading) is charged on a per page basis. Interactive processes, such as resume, presentation, and proposal preparation may be quoted as a package based on an hourly fee.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have a performance background, so I am really excited when I can support clients who are preparing speeches and presentations. Your words can persuade, promote, and impassion your audience when they are delivered with confidence and the right mix of media. Avoid the pitfalls that can lead to death by PowerPoint!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I get several requests for resume writing. Resumes are biographies, marketing tools, and a measure of my client's ability to enter a new position. Resumes require that I understand your abilities and present them as accomplishments. Business plans and funding proposals are popular and require lots of interaction to be concrete about possibilities. If my clients are clear about what they request, they can usually expect to receive positive feedback to their applications. I enjoy supporting writers who are preparing family histories, personal memoirs, and literary efforts (essays, fiction, or poetry). This work reminds me of my best work as a high school language arts teacher, when students realized that their words could be a powerful way to share their experiences and opinions.
