Introduction: It comes down to the level of preparation we do and the level of communication we maintain with you as a homeowner. We do a lot of extra work to ensure your home is well protected and we keep you posted on everything so there are not headaches or worries for you. We'd love to come out and show you what we mean! I most enjoy the feeling of having satisfied customers. I have loved the relationship I've been able to build with my clients. I highly recommend Five Star Painting. From the beginning with Grant - took extra time to understand what I needed completed; he provided a detailed estimate. I was impressed with his attention to detail; recommended power washing of some of the exterior - which greatly improved the overall results. The team were careful and cleaned up after each day's work. I had an interior window painted as well, and his team member was careful, neat and did an excellent job. He followed up several times with me during the work; did a complete walkthrough afterwards for review and quality control.

Grant and his team did a fantastic job from estimation to clean up. I was especially impressed by Grant's thoroughness walking me through every detail of the estimate and doing a thorough walk through of the job upon completion. He pointed out a small area that needed to be retouched and his crew was back out the next day to take care of it. Quality work!

Grant Layman and his crew had great follow-up and follow-thru. The handled a difficult project of painting the ceiling in an unfinished room in our basement and the work was done promptly and expertly. There were a couple of small misses but quick recognition of the fact. They corrected everything promptly. Also did GREAT job of clean up. We will use this company again soon for sure!

I had a great experience using Five Star Painting!!! The work was done in a timely manner. The workers were very professional and considerate to the work I needed them to do for the painting and wood repairs on my home. I even called Grant back concerning my gutter dripping which was not related to the repairs, but he came right over to inspect it himself and had it repaired for me at no additional charge. My entire experience with Five Star was exceptional! Thanks you Grant, I wish all the contractors Ive used were so considerate and honest.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We use a software system that aids in creating estimates. Pricing is typically based off square footage of areas painted. A standardized system helps us create bids that are fair and competitive.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We most often do repaints of residential properties. We do both interior and exterior painting. We can also take care of basic drywall repair on interiors and replace rotten wood on exteriors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1) Ensure that the company that you are going to hire is licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and fully insured. This protects you as the homeowner from having liability should any issues arise. 2) Find out who is your point of contact should any questions arise on the job. Find out if they have a project manager who is available to come visit your job site and how everything will be managed. 3) Understand the type of paint they will be using. "High quality" isn't enough. Ask for specifics. The right products makes a big difference in the appearance and longevity of your paint job.
