Introduction: Hi! I am a professional, MSDE certified music teacher (k-12) trying to grow my private lesson business. I specialize in all levels of flute and beginner-intermediate piano but can also tutor music theory, ear training, and general music skills. I have a B.A. in Music Education and Instrumental Performance. In lessons, I use a balance of process and product education to help my students bring to practice and perform with a high level of musicianship. I love teaching and watching my students' skills develop. If you want engaging and well-rounded music lessons, I'm the teacher for you! I will travel to your house and can bring a music stand and tuner/metronome. The student is expected to provide their own instrument and music. Lessons can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes, and I charge $30, $35, and $40, respectively for flute lessons and $25/$30/$35 for piano lessons. Please note that if I travel more than 20 miles by road, I charge an additional $5 travel fee.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For flute my prices are $30/$35/$40 for 30 min/45 min/60 min in-home lessons. I charge just a little more for flute lessons because I have received a degree in flute performance and it is my primary instrument. For piano lessons, musicianship tutoring, and any other instruments I charge $25/$30/$35 for 30 min/45 min/60 min in-home lessons. I do charge an additional $5 travel fee if I drive more than 20 miles to get to you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Music Education and Instrumental Performance with an emphasis in Flute. I have been trained extensively in flute and have been playing for over a decade. I started piano lessons at age 6 and have playing since then, even receiving two-years of piano training in college. In addition to this, as a requirement for my certification, I have taught full-time at Old Mill Middle North teaching band, strings, and percussion classes to over 200 6th - 8th graders.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with students ages 4-14, and love exploring the different aspects of teaching a wide range of ages. I will soon have experience tutoring adult students as part of a volunteer program I work with.
