FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, we have a subscription of monthly continuing education DVD's, and attend seminars and workshops.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My husband and I both have a lineage of photographers and artists/entertainers in our families. We both started some form of it at childhood. My first makeover was age 7 as Annie Oakley then Shirley Temple for two photographs in 2nd grade (hair, makeup, clothing, the works). My mother was working that day and when the pictures arrived, asked how I did it and kept grilling me to detail. She was not smiling nor angry, just puzzled. I remember thinking...it's so easy, how can she not understand? I later, in life, became a makeup artist for t.v. and when a barber didn't show up for a movie trailer, I also became a barber, (not liking to be stuck not knowing). Beforehand, I had wanted to learn more lighting for makeup where I met Ian, a wonderful photographer and husband. Together, we live and breathe artwork, enjoy meeting new people and still spending time with our long-time friends, family, grandchildren and our English Setter, Arabelle.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
It's all over the show, but here lately, we have had family portraits but a big influx of new start-up businesses and linkedIn head shots, as well as, people improving their website photos of their business or of themselves in their business. I certainly see a new trend of what people need since social networking as arrived.
