- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50/hour session $40/45-min session
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I talk to the parent on the phone to get a sense of what s/he is looking for in a tutor, as well as the needs of the student. After doing some initial assessments of the student and establishing a tutoring plan, I provide updates to the parents periodically about their child's progress or any areas of concern. I am responsive to emails/calls, and communicate with teachers upon the parent's request. I meet with individual students 1-4 times per week. (Schedule will be coordinated between parents and myself.)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an M.Ed. from Johns Hopkins University, I am an avid reader of research and education-related articles. I devote one morning each week to furthering my own learning about teaching methods/strategies. I attend occasional workshops, listen to podcasts, watch videos, share ideas with other teachers/tutors, and take online courses pertaining to teaching. I firmly believe that you never stop learning and that everything can be done better, so I try to live that in my professional life.
