FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell into it by just growing up in my family's household. We had many pets and I learned how to care for and love them all, hands on, as I grew up. My first job was for an animal shelter and then onto a job on a farm. And my life went like that. And interest in animals, pets, and dog behavior grew as I grew. My life has been working with animals. And I do not remember a time when there was not a dog by my side or a pet in my lap.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Mostly I find myself teaching people how to interact with their dogs so that they may truly enjoy their dog's presence in their lives. After many years of doing this work, I have developed a strong understanding for dog behavior and I am able to help many people know a calm with their dogs.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I had a client that had 3 large dogs that were quite unruly. These dogs pulled so hard on their leashes that they could not be walked. Off leash, the dogs would run away. The dogs barked uncontrollably at anyone passing by the house. And they were pushy beggars at the dining room table. Inside of 3 sessions with me, the humans and the canines, the dogs were minding their people, the barking and begging stopped, they were able to walk on leash politely and able to go off leash during woodland hikes.
