Introduction: A Great Story is Worth a Thousand Bullet Points I have been a business copywriter since 2002, both online and offline. Website copy, sales letters, landing pages, emails, you name it. I'm also a "graduate" of the AWAI school of copywriting - embracing the all the elements and structure that go into persuasive sales copy. But the reason so many clients keep coming back to me is my uncanny ability to write jaw dropping story leads (extended testimonials really) that draws the reader right into the promo. This is achieved by using my finely-tuned interviewing skills to gain the trust of the interviewee, and put him/her at ease. The goal is always to mine those "gems" from the subject that other interviewers can't. My feeling is that all copy bows down to a "killer" testimonial. A testimonial that is believable to the reader. The emotional empathy that the reader feels with the storyteller eclipses all the studies, reports, claims, facts and figures, etc, etc.. Let's face it...To so many readers, that's just a lot of "noise." How do you break through all that noise? You touch that "place" deep in their heart of the reader... The story of he fat girl who went to her high school reunion as drop dead gorgeous after losing all that weight on xxx. The hopeless and dejected job seeker who finally found his dream job after using xxxx. The woman who slept through the night for the first time in 11 years after using the pain cream from xxx. Find that place in the reader's heart... and you can sell anything! Like I just did.
