Introduction: At Ambidextrous Inc. we pay attention to the details. A perfectly manicured lawn isn't perfect if you miss a spot trimming, or leave grass on the driveway. We have very open communication with our clients. If there is something that should be addressed we will let them know. If it is something small we will just take care of it while on site. I enjoy the satisfaction of doing the best job possible. The way a lawn looks when it is freshly cut, or newly installed plantings. It is great when a customer takes a minute to say "Thanks, it looks great!"

Proud Mom speaks: I am proud of all my sons who have been in this business for so long. It was wonderful to see the older ones train the younger. My daughters were also involved off and on. As the business has grown so have the services and the type of equipment. At the beginning I drove the push mowers to the jobs so the family could work after getting to the job site by school bus. From my point of view this was much easier than a paper route for me and my involvement. So pleased to have the work ethic my husband and I tried to instill being carried out. It is wonderful to hear accolades as I am out and about in the Kennebunk community. Come see the work that has been done in my yard over the years. New gardens and a railroad tie stairway have improved the value and the looks of my property. The two mechanical engineering degrees and the economics degree are a wonderful asset to this business. The engineer certainly has a way of looking at a project and seeing more than meets the eye of some. Proud Mom

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We attend seminars from the hardscape product manufactures to keep up with the latest trends and products, as well as installation techniques.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Allen Landscaping was started in Weston, Massachusetts in 1978 by Jay and Brian Allen. Kevin started in the business while in elementary school, helping out on cleanups. Upon moving to Kennebunk in 1990 Kevin continued Seaside Landscaping by pushing his mower down the street looking for work. After earning a couple undergrad and one masters degree Kevin determining that office life was not for him, Kevin returned to landscaping. So Ambidextrous is truly the coming together of 30 years of landscaping experience.
What types of customers have you worked with?
At Ambidextrous Inc. we focus on providing the best quality landscaping services including seasonal lawn and landscape maintenance. For instance for a residential customer our typical services for the year are as follows Spring Cleanup - Dethatch lawn areas, repair plow damage, remove sand from lawn and driveway Landscape Bed Maintenance - Weed, edge, and remulch bed areas Regular mowing Shrub Pruning - To keep plantings healthy and shapely Fall Cleanup - Cut back perennials, pick up leaves, sticks etc from beds, lawn, and driveway aeras. Snow Plowing/Property Watch in the winter We can also set up Lawn Fertilization and Mosquito/Tick spraying. In addition we can add Annual Plants for a splash of color. If your landscape needs a makeover we can design a new outdoor space to fit your needs. If you can dream it, we can make it happen.
