FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is very difficult to compare when it comes to painting. Every project comes with its own unique set of challenges. If a painter bids to low you can be certain that corners will be cut, or extra charges will be added to compensate. We like to offer a fair estimate or rate so that we can go the extra mile and do the job right. In my opinion it's unprofessional to give a low quote and then try to charge the customer for extras at the end. Again, this is an important reason to check references. Quality work only goes so far, keeping to a budget is just as important.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education is very important as products, techniques, and equipment continue to evolve. The keys to success and happiness in your job are learning more than you know today and harness that knowledge to become more efficient and productive.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up working in the family paint store and learned about the industry at a very young age. As a teenager I ran a classified ad in my town paper and started painting houses. 25 years later I have equal time invested in the retail paint business and as a painting contractor.
