Despite the difficulties of my job (oversized garage, bigger - special order springs) Josh did a great job. Communicated effectively and showed up on time as promised. I like to learn how to do things myself (but had read enough to know that replacing garage door springs is somewhat dangerous work if you don't know what you are doing and costly if you make a mistake) and Josh was patient with explaining to me everything he was doing. I learned about his daughter and him working together fixing up all sort of houses all over Detroit so I anticipate hiring him again to do other odd jobs around our home. Just seemed like a nice trustworthy guy anxious to get some side work but still diligent enough to make certain he does the job right the first time. We had a few issues making final adjustments that took him a lot more time than he's probably used to taking and he didn't up his price. Thank Josh.

Initial work was good, however a month after my complete kitchen remodel the grout between my tile started coming up. It took several months to get Josh to come back out to fix it. He fixed it by removing and replacing a few tiles and regrouted the area. Then I found another area where the grout was coming up a couple of weeks later. I texted back and forth with him for about a year trying to get him to come out to fix it. He would always tell me he was going to come out and do it the following week and then would not show up. I had another contractor come in to look at it recently and was told the subfloor was not properly secured and my floor is moving which is why I keep having the issue with the grout. The second contractor is now going to fix the issue correctly. I am not happy about having to pay a second time for something that should have been done properly the first time, or at least fixed by the original contractor. Given his lack of showing up when promised and not addressing this issue, I wouldn't recommend this contractor.

Josh did a great job tiling around our glad block window in our shower area. When the glass black window installers pretty much left us with an unfinished window josh was there to save our day. He did a very professional job and the whole experience went smooth and the price was great. We will use him again in the future. I highly recommend Josh.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Nothing complicated really. The prices are based off of the job. If it's flooring its usually a sq ft price. Most of the time it's just by experience and how Much I feel the job is worth to me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm currently trying to obtain my general contractors license. That way I have some paperwork for my business. The more I know the more I can grow my business.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been very handy. I have a very mechanical mindset. I'm excellent at troubleshooting and problem solving. I like a challenge and the continuous learning.
