Embracing the opportunity, Curtis started the business out of his home. A year later, he converted the basement of his home into a tax office with the help of his wife and children. Curtis' first year in business, he prepared 116 returns. Curtis continued to grow and expand his business. By 1999, Fast Tax Income Tax Service was preparing 1,500 returns in one location with two tax preparers. The enormous increase in business volume was a testimony to the emphasis on meeting the individual needs of the customers.
