Let’s Jam! Being able to apply what you learn on the drums is one of the most important parts of improving as a drummer and musician. I’ve been in the music industry for a long time as a teacher, music producer, and performer. I also sing and play piano, which makes my lessons unique—you won’t just be playing along to a metronome; you’ll be playing real music with me and jamming out! I love teaching and have been doing it for over 20 years. I keep my student roster small so I can continue working in the industry while still giving each student the attention they need. In 2012, I won the Kresge Award in the music category, which the Detroit Free Press considers one of the highest honors for a metro Detroit artist. I’ve also recorded with Motown legend Dennis Coffey and collaborated on albums with 11-time GRAMMY winner Mick Guzauski and 6-time GRAMMY winner Chris Lord-Alge. I’ve taught drummers of all ages, from complete beginners to professionals touring with major artists. 30 minute lessons are what I mostly do but hour lessons are also an option.
