Introduction: Many trainers have various certifications and work in combination with other disciplines so they can create different types of classes. Though I have tried everything from Ti Chi to Kettleball classes, I have one focus which has caused me to develop a much more detailed understanding of Pilates and pass that along to my clients. Here's an example: Because I have a more in-depth understanding of what our core is, I can explain to clients why the pelvic floor is used and help them identify other muscles that are activated at the same time, then how to move weight using those muscles. I get so juiced when people share how good they begin to feel! It is so satisfying to see changes in their physique and hear their stories about fitting into clothes that used to be too tight. I also love getting to know people from around the world and feeling so close as we work together.

I am a beginner Pilate student. Recently, I started Pilate training with Judith Farmer to incorporate stretching into my Gym workouts. Judy is a wonderful instructor. She is genuinely interested in my progress and pays close attention. I have attended 5 sessions, enjoying and looking forward to more sessions. Judy has in-depth knowledge and a passion for what she does. She also is very patient with beginners. With her good verbal cues and demonstrations, I began to understand my weakness and strengths. She knows individual bodies are different and gives appropriate modifications along with the exercises suitable for body type and posture. . I am learning good techniques to discover my tighten muscles, stretch and loosen them. She keeps the class interesting by taking classes outdoor(Mother Nature’s permits!) to the serenity of the amphitheater pavilion Morning exercise in the direct sunlight and fresh air is so beautiful; I no longer have to motivate myself to stick with exercising. I am getting the outdoor exercise benefit too. She is helping strengthen my core and maintain good posture. I would recommend to anyone who wants to tone and increase flexibility. I like the fact, so far 'No Props' - it helps me to focus on my posture and also practice at home!!

Thank you. Though equipment is not a bad thing, many of us need to feel and learn our bodies. We have become out-of-touch with them. Introducing machines and weights, though helpful, can cause a dependency in which we feel we can't do our workout without that device or prop. Not needing these things allows us to be more consistent with our Pilates workouts and focus completely on our body.

Judy is a very knowledgable instructor who is good at teaching all levels of students in her classes. She has a calm and pleasant voice and is good at encouraging her class. She gives both positive compliments when she sees progress and gentle correction when your form is not correct. I have been in Pilates classes in the past where I couldn't do certain poses and the class was frustrating. In Judy's classes, I always leave feeling stronger, relaxed, and with a positive attitude.

Carol let me know some of her health concerns starting out. This allowed me to protect her from injury and encourage her to do certain movements at home for quicker recovery. Carol's partner joins her for class. Doing my workouts as a couple gives that extra motivation and can really improve your intimacy. Thank you, Carol for the edifying review. Very knowledgable, very personable, a lot of individual attention, always fun! Within a few weeks my core and back muscles have improved immensely with just one pilates workout per week,of course I do additional sports like yoga and swimming to complement Pilates. I did the beginner and intermediate classes with Judy.

Judy is an excellent Pilates instructor. Very positive, very descriptive in her instruction, and she puts together great workouts for a variety of fitness levels. Her constant focus on correct form helps all students avoid injury. I highly recommend her Pilates classes.
