FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I love to learn! So yes, I am always reading, web surfing, attending conferences and classes to guide and educate me in my profession.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've loved design since I was a child! My Aunt was an amazing designer in Chicago and I remember spending the summers with her and falling in love with every room in her home and how it told a story about the family that lived there. How it evolved and changed as they changed.I wanted to learn everything there was to learn about design, it's history, about color, it rules, and how and when to break those rules! I never tire of all the beautiful possibilities design has to offer.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I currently finished a project for a 6 year old boy with leukemia. I volunteered to design a bedroom for a child with cancer and I was given Evan's name. Evan has been getting treatments for leukemia for over 3 years and, will soon recieve his final treatment. I wanted him to have a special place he can go to that will allow him to fell safe and have the things he loves around him. I was able to secure donations from Lowe's, Home Depot, O'Leary's, Hello Betti, RU Drapery Designs and Christ Stein Carpentry to do this project and it has be an incredible experience.
