Introduction: A good DJ will engage an audience and keep them involved, but not be too intrusive. A good DJ keeps an event moving and on schedule. It is much more than just playing music. Also we work to customize the reception for the bride and groom. We want the reception to have the personalized touches that are unique to them. For me there is nothing more gratifying than to talk to the bride and groom at the end of the night and know that I have exceeded their expections. We frequently get referrals from people that attended an event that we previously played. I can't think of a better acknowledgement of a job well done than that.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Quite honestly, I am a terrible dancer. I found that I was much better suited behind the DJ booth. I started DJing in high school, then in college and I have been doing this since 1979. Now my son comes with me to assist.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly do wedding receptions, although I play for parties, anniversaries, proms, high school and junior high dances and other events.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently played for a wedding reception out on Mackinac Island. The wedding photographer commented afterward that has photographed many weddings over the years and that our performance was by far the best reception he had ever attended. That is what we strive for with every event.
