FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
COMPETITIVE PRICING: Priority One is very competitive with industry norms, but the customer gets a lot more information than with most inspectors. Typical inspections omit numerous details in the final report. A typical competitor’s inspection report contains less than 20 comments. A typical Priority One report contains between 80 and 120. A customer deserves both major and minor points of interest in the inspection report. For instance, it is important to know that yellow burner flames on a furnace can be very dangerous (yet easy to repair), just as it is important to know that the sliding screen door latch doesn’t work. DISCOUNTS: Priority One gives discounts for customers in the military and law enforcement. Discounts are also provided if you decide to get a second inspection when not satisfied with the original home. But again, when a customer weighs price against information, nobody provides the value found in a Priority One inspection report.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
WHEN YOU CALL: When you call for home inspection information, we have a brief conversation about the home you are interested in buying. How many square feet is the home? Is the home vacant or occupied? When was the home built? Does the home have city utilities or a well system and/or septic system? Are utilities on in the home, including power, gas, and water? Is the home a single-story, two-story, or multi-level? Is the garage attached or detached? Is the home on a basement, crawlspace, or slab foundation? If the home has a basement, is it finished or partially finished? Are there any sheds or outbuildings? IF YOU SCHEDULE: If you would like to proceed, the name, number, or company of your realtor will be needed, or if the home is for sale by owner, the owner’s name and number will be needed. We will choose a time for the inspection that meets with your needs. YOU CAN ATTEND: You are welcome and encouraged to attend the inspection. Or you can swing by at the end of the inspection to review salient info about the home. Or, if you cannot attend, the inspection report will be emailed to you by the following morning, and we can discuss the report at your convenience.
