FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I truly love helping my clients make the most money they can, as fast as they can! I price my services where my clients, can take advantage of the proven, successful methods of Real Estate Staging, and can do so with their budget - resulting in a scenario where we both come out winners!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been staging homes long before the term "home staging" came to the forefront. It just always made sense to me that if you want to sell your house, you need to be sure that it shows at its best. Just as when you sell your car you remove the dirt, debris, trash, McDonald's bags, etc., so why wouldn't you do the same for your one of your largest assets, your home?! I like to tell my clients, "We are going to remove the "McDonald's bags" from your home and give it a good "wash and wax" then and only then can we feel confident that we are offering an irresistible "product," one that will stand apart from all the other products on the Real Estate shelf."
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
It was early in the morning and she and I were the first customers in the local Burlington Coat Factory. I could not help but over hear her cell phone conversation with her Realtor as she was quite upset about how her home had been stagnating on the market with no offers for 5 years! After she finished her call, I cautiously approached her while apologizing for "eaves dropping." I began to share with her how staging her home would help get it sold. She was very interested but in a hurry, so she took one of my business cards as she left the store and told me she would call me later. I was pleasantly surprised when later that evening, she did just that! Long story short, I got the job and staged her home. The rest is history as they say but I wanted to share with you what she had to say about home staging and the overall experience. I believe she said it best when she wrote the following: Dear Realtor or Home Owner: I had my home on and off the market for five years. It was a horrible experience in such a tough seller's market. Perspective buyers that viewed the house either thought it was priced too high; needed too much work; or didn't like the floor plan. I loved my house; after all, I bought it! Why couldn't others see its beauty and potential? Peggy Harrington staged my house just before Father's Day 2012. Our first open house after the staging was actually scheduled for that holiday. I was amazed -- we had two offers that day!! But we decided to keep the house available for future showings while working through the purchase agreement. And as it turned out, we had additional opportunities to sell the home during that time, which gave me further confidence to continue the purchase agreement negotiations. Peggy's staging brought interest and warmth into each room, which helped buyers imagine their family living in that space. After staging, Peggy stopped by the house periodically to make sure it remained presentable. She kept all of the rooms looking fresh after each perspective buyer walked through. When considering how much it costs to have a house lingering on the market, month after month waiting for a purchase, I realize now it would have been silly not to have had Wow! Factor Real Estate Staging assist me in the sale. I only wish I had found Peggy sooner! I couldn't be more enthusiastic about giving WOW! Factor Real Estate Staging and Peggy Harrington this letter of reference. I think home sellers would be crazy not to use this wonderful service! Sincerely, Denise T. Fenton, MI
