FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have an hourly charge for portrait photography, which varies between $150 to $200, depending on the location and time. For weddings and other events I offer different packages based on hours of shooting time and products needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would like to know the basic details first (date, time, type of project, type of service requested, etc.) via phone/email/text. After that, if I am comfortable with the project and the client wants to go forward with me, I'll either meet for coffee to learn more about my clients or speak/video chat with them over phone to get more details. If they choose to move forward with me as their photographer I have a contract that we sign and they will put a deposit down to reserve their date. Generally, we will have a consult 1 or 2 weeks before their event date to go over all the final details and timeline. About a day or two after the project I like to give my clients a preview photo. Depending on the type of work, the final images are delivered within 1-3 weeks.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am regularly reading articles, attending webinars, looking at the work of other photographers, subscribing to newsletters, blogs, books and magazines related to the photography so that I can constantly hone my skills and improve my work.
