FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If there is a rehearsal, it will typically add $50.00 to the total cost. If I am asked to travel to Ohio, and outside of 1 hour of travel from my home, I will likely tack on gas costs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I follow all the latest licensing regulations for Michigan and Ohio-the 2 states I most often perform weddings in. I check in with my ordaining organization for their latest developments as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a psychologist by trade (my main job), and had always been told that I had the gift of public speaking. A friend of mine got ordained thru the same organization that I ultimately ended up getting ordained from, and I initially decided to do it like she did-to be able to do weddings for friends and family. Having done just that for a while, I decided that I loved it so much, and wanted to expand it, into more of a side business to officiate others' weddings as well.
