I began my experience training with Kent Nelson at his school, KSK Martial Arts, by participating in the school's 2 part Women's Self Defense classes. I was unsure what to expect, but found the experience to be empowering and fun. Kent Nelson and his staff were clearly very knowledgeable, great teachers, and made me feel comfortable.
I enjoyed the self defense classes so much that I began taking MMA-JKD at KSK Martial Arts. It was an intimidating thing for me to do, as I was a woman who had never participated in any sort of martial arts training before. And as a newbie I found training at KSK to be something hugely enjoyable.
I have now been a student at KSK for a year. I always look forward to class and find the methods used to train students to be inclusive, informative, practical, and done in a manner that is low-pressure, focused on detail, and so much fun that I always leave class exhilarated having learned new things while getting a pretty good workout as well!
Its a fantastic facility, led by a very knowledgeable and engaging teacher that is Guro Kent Nelson.
I am so happy to be training at KSK and look forward to discovering where training at KSK Martial Arts will take me. I have learned so much and have so much more to learn from Guro Kent and the rest of the KSK folks!

I have not only had immense growth in my martial arts skills at KSK but in my confidence level as an individual. Guro T. Kent Nelson uses positive reinforcement and easy to understand training regiments to monitor and put in place a level of success that is possible for anyone. I highly recommend this school for all martial arts needs

Awesome time training with kent and his staff. Very detailed while giving instructions. No ego, you will feel very welcome no matter what skill level your at. The system is also very well rounded, you won't have to go to diffrent dojos for your training, kent covers all ranges of combat from weapons to striking to the clinch to the take down. This is a one stop shop and train dojo with friendly staff. A community blessing for this area in mi.

I've had the opportunity to attend 2 seminars taught by Kent Nelson in which he taught various aspects of KSK JKD, and ARMAS Kali.
Guro Kent's presentation was excellent and detailed, displaying an incredible level of knowledge of material presented. He also clearly has much experience teaching to various kinds of people as he we able to impart information to all attending, and personalize the material to the many different skill levels of people in attendance. Will attend his next event in my area.
