Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: It's not a job! I have a passion for travel and traveling the world and seeing all it has to offer has been my life-long dream since I was a little girl! I love all styles of traveling - from going solo to my favorite stateside city, to joining my friends for a girlfriend's getaway or weekend retreat, taking a family vacation, or going on a women's group tour for empowerment, entertainment and eats, I have done them all... But what I like most about being a travel consultant is the excitement and joy in my clients' voice when they're planning a vacation, the anticipation they feel when reviewing all their options and seeing the pure joy of their travels through their photos and stories when they return.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I specialize in "all-inclusive" vacations from cruises and group tours to weekend getaways for couples, but the most common types of quote requests I receive are for destination weddings and honeymoons. The most common destinations are Hawaii and the Caribbean. The question that I'm asked the most is, "What is the average cost of a Hawaii vacation?" Or, "What is the average cost of a Caribbean vacation?" Depending upon the season and the preferred island for lodging, the average cost of a Hawaii vacation is $4K - $5K per couple. Also, depending upon the season and where in the Caribbean you're traveling, the average cost of a Caribbean vacation is 2K-5K per couple. And, if you're cruising to either locations, your costs could be even lower.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As a travel consultant, my primary role consists of having the ability to research, customize and compare the rates of 2-3 vendors, and provide you, the client, with the maximum amount of benefits for every dollar spent on your travel experience. In order to do this, you're my most valuable asset. The key to planning a great travel experience is your budget. Often times, travelers believe that by not revealing their budget gives them an opportunity to get the "lowest" rates, when in reality, the lowest rate is not the "best" rate. When seeking a travel consultant, my advice would be to be prepared with a realistic budget in mind. We use your budget as a starting point. A travel professional should not use your budget to attempt to sell you a travel experience at the highest dollar. A travel professional will use your budget as a starting point to eliminate those travel experiences that do not match your traveling profile. For example, for a newlywed couple with a honeymoon budget of $3K per person and looking for a city tour with lots of excitement, lights, and action - a $10K, per person tour to Paris does not fit their budget or their profile. However, a week long $4K honeymoon package, including flight and hotel to Las Vegas is well within their budget and may appeal to them, however, a $5K "all-inclusive" honeymoon package to Hawaii, including flight, hotel, meals, drinks and gratuities, is a perfect fit for their profile... I can give you the maximum amount of benefits and amenities for every dollar spent!
