Introduction: Arrow Dog Training was founded by owner and dog trainer Dawn Archer Pizzoferrato in 2008 and got its name from her rescue mix breed dog, Arrow.
Dawn is an Animal Behavior College certified dog trainer who uses all positive reinforcement training techniques and is a clicker training expert.
Dawn is a Certified K9 Nose Work instructor, an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen and TDI Therapy Dog evaluator and the human half of a Therapy Dogs International team with Arrow.
We believe that calm consistent leadership, adequate exercise, healthful diet and positive reinforcement training will lead to a strong human-dog bond and a happy, healthy well-behaved dog.
Dog training is really human training aimed at teaching the owners on how to effectively communicate with their dogs. Once communication, mutual trust and respect are achieved, the human-dog relationship can flourish to the benefit of both. Clicker training is scientifically proven to be one of the quickest, most effective form of training to accomplish this goal.

Dawn is a fabulous instructor. She is so knowledgeable and commands such a comfortable assertion with my puppy that is still warm and friendly, but still puts my dog and I at ease when working with her. She believes strongly in positive reinforcement (both with dogs and owners, haha!). She is timely and comes to each private session very prepared. She is also always available when I have questions outside of our classes. It has made obedience so easy and my dog super happy. We always look forward to her next visit. I strongly suggest working with her. You'll see the difference after the first visit.

I have taken several Nosework classes with Dawn along with a therapy dog class. She is patient and kind but straightforward about how to improve your relationship with your dog, be a better handler, and improve your training skills. My fearful Rottie is so much happier and more confident now that she been doing Nosework with Dawn. And that has given me the confidence to do more with her. I couldn't be happier with the results!
