FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First off, I will ask questions to figure out a little more information about the dog. I will ask what breed the dog is, how much does it weigh, along with what services the customer is interested in. All of this helps me determine the price. Secondly, once I have given the customer a quote on the price, and reiterated what is included in the services they were interested in, I will ask them if they would like any additional services (If the dog sheds, if they want their teeth brushed, etc.) Third, I will ask them what days and times work best for them so that neither of us have to waste time going back and fourth trying to figure out appointment times. Once they give me an idea of what their schedules are like, I will promptly send them a variety of days and times that would fit into their schedules. Lastly, to avoid any confusion, I will conclude our conversation with repeating the day/time of the appointment, the services they requested, how long I expect the appointment to take, and my address so that they know where to go.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although I have only been grooming for about a year or so now, I have worked 12 hour days, 6 days a week ever since I started training. So with that being said, a year may not seem like a very long time, but within this year I have gained TONS of experience.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was at Ohio University studying neuroscience and psychology for premed. I came home for the summer and started working at a grooming salon as a bather, which peaked my interest in grooming. Shortly after I expressed interest in learning to groom, I started training, and now here we are!
