FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I subscribe to many horse magazines and belong to the United States Dressage Assoc, and the Hunter/Jumper Association, also Michigan Horse Council. I attend and ride in clinics to keep myself up on all the newer techniques of teaching. I coach our local High School Equestrian team and am very active in our local 4-H club.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been around horses all my life, from riding on my dad's work horses at the age of 8 months old. I love taking care of horses and studying their habits. I took formal lessons for 15 years starting at the age of 29, but always had a horse to be around when I was growing up, they are in my blood and until I can no longer ride or teach I will always have horses around.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Feel free to come and watch me teach a lesson at anytime. My time is your time. You can come for a trial lesson at any time and determine if you would like to work with me or not. I'm not offended if someone does not want to come to me as a student. That is your decision to make.
