Introduction: I love playing guitar (and similar instruments) but enjoy teaching even more. I especially welcome students who have had negative experiences in the past. When I began studying guitar, I went through a number of teachers who were decent players, but didn't really connect with me.They would all say "go buy this book or that book" which would have songs like Camptown Races and such. Then I found a good teacher who asked what I listened to and who I wanted to play like. I said Jimmy Page, and he said here's a Led Zeppelin tune.

Dave has been teaching me now for over a year and a half. He is very patient and knows when I am struggling to get it. He keeps it interesting by teaching theory and songs from my favorite genre. He also won't let me off the hook when I start to develop bad habits. Dave is also teaching my daughter, and he adjusts his lesson based on the student. Highly recommended!

Just had a first lesson with Dave, he was very informative about the History of music, while he changed the saddle and strings of my guitar, all the while explaining the proper way to do this task. He showed me some exercises to keep my fingers moving and learn dexterity. Then began to show me some cords. By end of the lesson I was learning a Santana song😊

I'm not a student of Dave's, but a fellow musician. I've jammed with him on many occasions and am always blown away by his musicianship. He is free with his knowledge and I've bled him for many great licks. Although I'm not a student, I can see where his calm, easygoing demeanor, which belies the intensity of his music, would make him an outstanding instructor for any level of player from beginners to master classes.

I have been taking lessons from Dave for almost two years, and I am very happy with everything I have learned so far. Throughout the time I have been taking lessons, I have been very amazed with all that he knows about both guitar and music theory. I feel that I have learned a lot so far and I am still learning! I really recommend Dave as a guitar teacher to anyone who is interested:)
