I have used Kathy on several homes. She is always easy to work with, has some great ideas and always comes in under budget which is a bonus. Initially my husband and I hired KB Designs for our own home where she did most of the rooms in an aged Italian feel. The last job she completed was to duplicate some missing marble at a rental property we have. She also did a polished plaster effect in the great room. Peter who did the priming and other prep work was also good and very considerate. Kathy is now doing ongoing work for my son in some show homes in Minneapolis where he has a contracting business.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is typically based on square foot rate starting at $2.00 a sq. ft. and can go to $12 a sq. ft. depending on complexity of the finish. Cabinets are typically priced by door. Average $100 per standard sized door. $50 for smaller doors. Price varies by finish chosen.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before we meet I assess the wants and needs of the prospective customer. This will help so I am sure to have the best sample boards with me when we meet. I charge a consultation fee of $55 - $85 depending on distance and time. Half the amount is refunded with a signed contract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I taken at least one class a year since I went into business. I own a school for professional decorative finishers and teach other professional decorative finishers.
