Stay away from here! I'll be blunt - the problem is the owner of My Legacy Farm, then called Northwest Stables and now Fresh Start OTTBs. He has a serious anger problem. He is also having an affair with the owner of the Dover store in Medina. His lack of integrity and poor personal decisions translate into a very poorly managed barn. Most of the horse there are his and hers - there are very few actual boarders there. She funnels prospective boarders and riders who come into her Dover store to My Legacy Farm. The owner talks a good game about the wonderful barn, training, instructors, and community, and how much better his facility is than other nearby barns. People who board there find a different reality. The barn is largely deserted and the owner is seldom there. He regularly fires barn managers and trainers. The "heated" barn is joke - the heat was turned down to its lowest setting - providing just enough heat to keep from freezing the water pipes. The heat in the indoor arena is provided by one french fry lamp in the corner (the other lamp was broken). During my time there my horse was jumpy and nervous. I can only imagine what actually goes on with the care of the horses. Question the care of the horses or the quality of the facility and he will fly into a rage and throw you out. Boarders don't stick around long, and we were no exception. Don't board there, and don't let your child take a lesson there! The place is now in need of repair. there are 21 horses they own on the property, there is nobody there working to help with them, and the fences are falling apart. Last time a boarder wanted to move her horse due to her unhappiness over conditions, the police were requested to be there for her support.
