Introduction: I can do standard photography, but I especially enjoy a more artistic, intimate look. I prefer a soft, natural, airy light in my images, that calls a viewer to rest in the beauty of the moment, and the story told between the subjects being photographed. Over and over again, I am amazed and blessed by the awesome people I get to meet who become my clients! It is such an honour to be trusted with capturing their milestones and their families, to be trusted to capture the emotional ties between them, and to translate that into art that they can cherish for years and generations to come :)

[21:55:33] Leah Kelton: Leah is extemely attentive and has a warm, calming aura that sets everyone at ease and helps them look their best for the photographs. She has worked very well with my two young daughters on various occassions, getting the very best from them and capturing their personality as well as the way they look, using a reportage, rather than 'posey posey' style of photography. She also worked on a maternity shoot for myself before my second child was born, and she was attentive to my wishes for the shoot as well as coming up with some great suggestions for poses too. I felt that she really captured my vision for the shoot, which was to show the close bond between me and my unborn baby, and her sister. It was a lovely tender shoot, resulting in photographs that I'll treasure.

Leah met me in Minneapolis for a post-wedding shoot and, after helping me get ready, we went down to the St. Anthony-Main area to begin the shoot. Leah was fun and easy to work with and came filled with great ideas for poses and backgrounds. She made me feel like a model! Thank you SO much for the wonderful lifestyle session. It is always hard when the photographer says "act natural", yeah because that is easy in front of a total stranger Well you seemed to fit right into our crazy group and the result is some amazing moments that I will treasure. My Mom and Grandma are very special to me and it means a lot to capture moments in our life that I will be able to share with my daughters for a lifetime. Leah was absolutely phenomenal!! She is super friendly and made our engagement shoot very comfortable. She really knew how to capture the evening light and the beauty of the surroundings perfectly. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of the time. Courses, and experimentation with editing, and networking with other photographers, etc...
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look at their work, their style, but also, get to know them as a person. You don't want someone with a personality you can't stand as an integral part of your wedding day, for instance! And you don't want someone whom you don't really trust working with your little ones, or documenting your birth :)
