D/O engages in all phases of architecture and landscape design. A typical process begins with research, into our client's specific way of living, the layers of information latent in the land, and the nuances of local zoning codes. What follows is an open, non-linear ideation process resulting in numerous solutions ranging from the expected to the innovative. Once a final idea begins to emerge, design shifts to documentation which results in an extensive package of interior and exterior details, plans, and specifications. Throughout the construction process, frequent site visits and a healthy relationship with contractors ensures the complete realization of the design.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The design and creation of a place in the built world is one of the most primitive, instinctive things we can do in our lives. It can be an inspiring, revealing, soul-searching process. Our advice: Have fun.
