My Wheaten Terrier Inara started classes with Jodee when I got her at 4 months old. Jodee was able to structure training specific to Inara's needs and abilities. Inara was a very smart and exuberant puppy but easily bored. So basic training with lots of repetition did not work for her. Jodee tailored classes to allow her to do more advanced skills in her puppy classes which allowed Inara to keep learning. Making things more of a challenge, Inara was not treat motivated, so Jodee's program of praise and positive reinforcement really helped Inara learn. Inara and I enjoyed our training so much that we continued classes for 5 years. We did classes from puppy to adult, good citizenship, agility and even tricks. People would chuckle and ask isn't your dog trained yet. Of course she was! But training became a social activity for Inara and her doggie friends. As well as for all the owners. Inara would still be doing training with Jodee if she hadn't passed away from a sudden illness. I will definitely be taking my next dog to work with Jodee. She has the ability to teach young puppies that learning is fun and help owners gain the knowledge and confidence to continue working with their dogs when away from classes. Jodee has helped dogs that are rescues as well as those who have been abused become happy well adjusted family members and working animals. If you are looking for a highly skilled positive trainer for your dog or puppy be sure to contact her.Feb 22, 2016PawZup (Better Endings New Beginnings)'s reply
I can't believe we have been able to move ahead with our dream of building a Kids & Dogs Safety community TV show - Teagan has been a joy to work with and a favorite volunteer at CCX Create. Can't wait what she does as she grows into being a big dog.
Today we had our first session with JoDee. Lily loved her and we were excited about all the new games to try. She took the time to answer all our questions and gave us clues to look for. We are looking forward to trying one of her classes when we get back from vacation.Nov 14, 2017VerifiedPawZup (Better Endings New Beginnings)'s reply
Thanks Brandi - we will have a good time getting through this - I always see behaviors and crazy dog hobbies as opportunities to give everyone a better life together - have a GREAT vacation!
Jodee at PawZup was amazing from the minute she walked in the door and met our three pups until the minute she left. Very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She clearly loves what she does! Our dogs, ages 1 to 14 took an immediate liking, better yet loving, to her. I would highly recommend!!Jul 29, 2017VerifiedPawZup (Better Endings New Beginnings)'s reply
Thank you for the kind words - you have a great fur team and they are going to be fun to move ahead into new and exciting skills.
Jodee was terrific. When she arrived and rang the doorbell - the dogs went ballistic (as usual). After the hour session, the dogs were well behaved. We're looking forward to her next visit.Jan 13, 2017VerifiedPawZup (Better Endings New Beginnings)'s reply
Thank you John - Mr. Darcy, Spencer and Cooper are awesome dogs. It will be fun watch them grow.
Jodee is such a people person and so friendly. Very comfortable to be around. But she is also very professional and amazing at her job. She is great at finding multiple ways to do things so if one thing doesn’t work there’s always another option. She’s very creative. Dogs like her just as much as their owners. I would definitely recommend her.Nov 15, 2017PawZup (Better Endings New Beginnings)'s reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am happy to meet with you and your canine before we decide to do business and that is FREE. I believe training is a partnership between families and their fur kids. After our initial meeting private in home training rates apply. Group classes are scheduled throughout the year and you can join our mailing list.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to start with a free phone call and get to know you and your dog better. I will ask about what you love about your dog and what frustrates you. Then we will set up a time that works for both of us and I will travel to your home to work with your dog. In our conversation I will discover what motivates your dog as all the training I do is based on Positive Reinforcement. You will be surprised how much your fur friend can learn and change in just one lesson. After the first lesson, there will be no pressure to continue to on to a next lesson, but many times people love it so much and dogs have so much fun you will want to continue training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Since 1978, I have trained and raised Standard Poodles (mine are not the foofy kind, more like German Shepherds in muppet gear). I joined Dog Scouts in 2005 and began researching Positive Reinforcement, graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2008, and worked as the mentor/senior trainer for Petco Brooklyn Park from 2009-2016 training their dog trainers. In March 2016 I stepped out on my own to be able to do in home training.
