Erica is a very talented designer, but what sets her apart from the rest is her personality, style, flexibility, and ability to think outside the box. All of the designers we met with prior to meeting Erica made me feel intimidated to express my ideas and embarrassed about my "low" budget (which was $10,000 - to me, a lot of money; to them, not nearly enough to get anything done). Erica took the time to get to know me, my home, my goals for design, and my priorities; and she truly cared about each of them. One of our projects was far more difficult, time-consuming, and expensive than we had anticipated, and she was persistent and determined to find an affordable and aesthetic alternative solution - and she did it! Her approach to each room in our house made the entire process far less overwhelming than had we attempted it on our own. And she clearly wanted us to have fun with the process, which was always appreciated. She was never pushy with timelines or purchases, but always kept us on track for progress. Erica was willing to meet with us on weekends, evenings, and by phone an email; very accessible. My husband and I are very pleased with our results, and Erica has been a pleasure to work with! Erica designed a wonderful lower level media room for our family. Out with the 1970's panelling, she designed a wall of good looking storage cabinets all along one wall. It included a recessed area for a TV that had custom doors to make the TV disappear! She sourced the most comfortable sectional couch that fits the area perfectly. Lighting is key in a lower level and she helped us think through a good plan for that. Her attention to detail was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend her!

Erica listened well and asked good questions to get to a design that is both fabulous and within budget. The finished product reflects us while her influence encouraged some new directions/products we hadn't considered or known about. We'll seek her advice again!

Interior designers and their clients get to know each other pretty well, so it's important that there's a good connection. In the initial consultation, make sure you feel comfortable with the designer, and that you can be honest about your lifestyle. A good designer will want to make your life easier - and more beautiful - through smart layout, product and material choices.
