I hired Marla for a surprise proposal session. She was absolutely wonderful, very responsive, and great bang for the buck. She was able to get some amazing pictures of the engagement itself despite horrible lighting, but after the proposal, she waited while my fiancée fixed up her hair and makeup and then did a mini engagement shoot after. She worked incredibly well in the setting (a barn), and the pictures turned out beautifully. Would highly recommend!

Marla did beautiful work on a tiny budget, and was extremely pleasant work with. Her studio was full of a variety of useful fabrics, furniture and props (plus lighting equipment and so-forth). I can't wait to work with her again!

Marla is a great person and an amazing photographer. We hired her for engagement style candid photoshoot and she nailed it. She is very friendly and easy to work with. The session was for one hour but she is not worried about time, so we end up taking photos for 1 and 1/2 hours.

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually start by figuring out exactly what the client wants to say with their story or brand. From there, we decide together if we'll shoot in my studio in Saint Paul or on location, the best time of day for lighting, wardrobe etc. Once we shoot, I'll send a proofs gallery to view all of the images and after the final photos are chosen by the client, it takes me about 1-2 weeks to retouch.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts and graduated in 2012. I've been freelancing ever since and went full time self-employed in summer 2018! :)
What types of customers have you worked with?
I love working in the commercial industry, working with catalogs, advertising, magazines, portraits, and private companies for headshot and website work. I love incorporating my own personal style to create something completely unique for my clients.
