I have thoroughly enjoyed being a student of Mike's. I decided to learn the banjo about a year ago when I retired at the age of 70. (Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks).I tried it on my own for a while, but decided I really needed personal instruction. I signed on with Mike about 6 months ago and am so glad I did. He is an excellent teacher and has the patience to make sure I am progressing at a steady pace. He makes himself available to answer questions via e-mail and communicates to his students when he posts a video so that we always have new things to learn. He listens to my concerns and goes out of his way to make sure I understand everything he is teaching me. I am very happy to have Mike as my instructor and look forward to my continuing lessons from him.

I have been taking lessons from Mike for a couples weeks now, and I am loving it! he is so patient and keeps the lesson fun and you get a lot out of it in the end of each session.
I look forward to every Thursday now!

Mike is always on time, encouraging, not distracted, and certainly knows his mandolin and music theory. He taught me alternate finger placements for chords when I had problems reaching the correct frets, and ways to "dress up" a song to make it my own. Under Mikes instruction I'm doing what I never thought I could do a year ago as long as I practice. Mike has been my teacher for a year and I highly recommend him.

Great, mike is easy to work with and quickly picks up on your musical goals and is eager to help you achieve them. He is obviously adaptable to any age group and gives you Lots of options to help you learn how to to play, in my case guitar.
