The first two lessons have been a lot of fun. Mike had me return a small questionnaire after the first lesson. On it were questions for students about the style of guitar that appeals to them, styles that don't, songs they would like to learn, aspects of the guitar they find frustrating, and questions about other aspects of music that may interest them (recording, bands). These questions helped me frame the kind of music I want to play and produced goals for music and techniques to learn. In lessons Mike is patient, full of good advice, and keeps the lesson on track. In short, Mike knows his stuff and I feel like we are off to a great start!
WOW!! EVERYONE KEEPS COMPLIMENTING OUR BAND!!! We checked out every band in town and these guys were head and shoulders above the rest!!! The Dap Squad is THE BEST live band we've heard and we checked them ALL out!! We saw these guys in Iowa at a stranger's wedding (by accident) and we said then if we ever got married, this WOULD be the band. As luck turns out they were actually from Minnesota. We went with the full 10 piece because we are only doing this once and wanted the to make a splash. Wow, I just can't say enough. They KILLED Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, etc.. My sister turned to me at the end and said if she ever gets married they will hire this band... I'm just waiting because I already know. ;-) This band is magic!!!
Tim was AMAZING! It was a professional reception (medical staff w/ spouse and legislators). All the guests enjoyed the music, many asking how we found him and how they could book him for a future event. I'd hire Tim again in a heartbeat!
Rockitman was the entertainment at my wedding, and it was an absolute blast! Jon entertained young and old alike, and the dance floor was going all night! He was funny, engaging, and super easy to work with. You pay a bit more for live music than a DJ, but the quality and professionalism Rockitman delivers is far and away better than any DJ, and unlike most live bands, Rockitman is able to customize the show based on requests. I would hire them again in a heartbeat for corporate parties or any kind of event, and I’d recommend them to anyone!
Reception Jazz LLC was a complete delight to work with. They were easy and straightforward to deal with, came in plenty of time to set up, played wonderfully for our event and added greatly to the ambiance. If you want a great quality, talented jazz trio, kind people and no drama- hire them!!! We would hire them again and again.
I didn't actually work with them but I did go see them many times they are one of the greatest bands I have ever heard. They're very professional yet you can feel that they're having a good time doing what they do which makes it more enjoyable to listen to them. The a very outgoing and they come and say hello to a lot of people. They often play at the schooner tavern in Minneapolis whiskey Junction sometimes to Bloomington eagles club and then in crystal at rostemos. So if you ever wanna go out and see a good band look up back alley and check him out I guarantee you will like them.
The band was very professional and the music was a great fit for us. Thanks guys for making the evening fun!
Downtown sound was amazing. The dance floor was never empty. They worked with all of my requests. So many people still comment on how great the band did.
We really enjoyed Mary as our children's piano teacher. Our daughter is a fluent piano player and uses her musical talent In a band every week. My sons received the musical training they needed to be proficient with drums. Mary is kind, gentle and encouraging. She is prepared for her lessons. We highly recommend her.
To use an acronym to describe Les Izmoore, I would say WTF! (Wonderfully Talented Ferpormers!!!) These guys were Led Zeppelin before there was a dirigible. And who's more popular...J.C., or the Beatles??? Neither, it's Les Izmoore by a long shot. It ain't even close. While you may never hear Lez Izmore and Eye Candy in the same sentence, these guys are all exceptional musicians and amazing performers. Unlike bands I've been in...these guys start and end at the same time. Incredible, right? I've always wondered why I couldn't do that! If you want a great band, at a great price, that is better than you could have hoped for...these guys are it. At some point, they'll have to change their name to Moore Izmoore. Cheers music fans...these guys will make your day!
I wanted to play bass in a band, and had some previous knowledge of piano. I contacted Hugh about lessons, and we worked from there, bringing me from essentially ground zero to now, where I'm gigging with a group on a regular basis. Hugh also invited me to see him perform with his group, Miss Fairchild, and it's obvious that he's a master of the instrument. It gives me a lot to look forward to, and to desire to work hard for. One of the best parts about studying with Hugh is that he is personable. A lot of music teachers, in my experience, can kind of have a weird vibe, but Hugh is funny and cool. I'd recommend him to anyone.
We were recently lucky enough to have the Neighborhood Trio play at our wedding, which was about 80 adults at the Bachelor Farmer. We didn't want a DJ or top 40 band, as we were aiming for more of a cool, lounge vibe where our guests could enjoy a drink and some music but still have a conversation. After all, many had flown across the country to celebrate and visit with us and each other ... We weren't sure how to go about searching for musicians to fit this bill, but with the Neighborhood Trio we stumbled into the perfect solution. Their music is awesome, and it set the perfect mood for an awesome party! Nothing against Journey covers, but if you are looking for a slightly more sophisticated option, look no further. As their website said, their music is "perfect with a dry martini" ...
BW&M will be the highlight of your party or event. Besides being phenomenal musicians, they are great people and easy to work with. Lots of bands can play great covers, but this band is stacked with 3 amazing vocalists that have a ton of energy. Great for weddings, concerts, parties, etc.
I have not hired Tim and his band but I seen him and danced to his music several times (more than 5) at different venues. It is good music and very dancible. You will enjoy any evening with his music.
Tapestry is an 11 member cover band in Minneapolis, featuring a five-piece band (or eight, when the horns are sober) and three vocalists. We cover rock & roll, soul, pop, country, blues, 80's hair metal, even a little early-90's rap. Adele? Check. Zac Brown Band? Yep. Temptations? You bet. Journey? Of course! Huey Lewis & The News? You'll have to catch a show to find out. Our goal at every show is to fill the dance floor and keep it full. Hit us up on the Web at (powertapband.com) or FB to book us for your next event. See you on the dance floor!

They are a husband-and-wife duo with an option for a full band. In one week, down in Eureka Springs, AR, on tour, they played a blues festival (Bikers, Blues, and BBQ festival), a country bar (Chelsea's), and a jazz lounge (the Voulez-Vous). There's a bit of chemistry going on, and they are enjoyable to watch and listen to. They are a perfect fit for any occasion!
