About this pro
35 years in business
I am a publisher of regional guide books for landscape photographers. John has played a key role in producing five of my books over the last several years, providing a mix of proofing, editing, map-making, image selection and layout services. He is part of the reason I have won several national literary awards for my books. His most recent effort involved extensive editing of a 320-page volume on photographing southern California. He has my hearty recommendation!Apr 6, 2016
John was hired to create an Oil & Gas brochure. With just a very rough draft of what we envisioned, John took initiative to interview our subject matter experts and was thorough with his research to aid in the development of the messaging and supporting graphics. The finished piece successfully told our story and has been one of our top requested pieces by our sales channel. He has been a joy to work with.Apr 6, 2016
We asked John and Small Planet Design to help create a LOGO for our Real Estate Team. We really only had an idea in our heads and John helped to make it a powerful symbol of exactly what we were thinking of. John was extremely patient with us and had an high attention to detail. I would highly recommend John Stottlemyer and Small Planet Design for any of your design. logo and or Image work. Thank You Small Planet Design!! Chris Hoyt Manger RE/MAXApr 2, 2016

Graphic design is $45 while photography and retouching are $65/hr, for example. Many jobs can be estimated on a project basis, however, so the customer is sure to remain within budget. If excessive customer-requested additions or alterations occur, the customer is notified in advance and billed accordingly. I believe in providing high quality services that are affordable for my customers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? It is a privilege to earn new business and I work hard early to learn the goals and expectations of my customer. We'll agree on the best way to get to the finish line, how long it will take and what it will cost. Lots of customer input, frequent communication along the way and meeting pre-determined milestones are key to success. The new customer will receive timely proofs, will be able to change coarse as needed, and will experience few surprises.
