- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For a project paid hourly, most work is billed at the rate of $45, $55 or $65 per hour. Graphic design is $45 while photography and retouching are $65/hr, for example. Many jobs can be estimated on a project basis, however, so the customer is sure to remain within budget. If excessive customer-requested additions or alterations occur, the customer is notified in advance and billed accordingly. I believe in providing high quality services that are affordable for my customers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is a privilege to earn new business and I work hard early to learn the goals and expectations of my customer. We'll agree on the best way to get to the finish line, how long it will take and what it will cost. Lots of customer input, frequent communication along the way and meeting pre-determined milestones are key to success. The new customer will receive timely proofs, will be able to change coarse as needed, and will experience few surprises.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to my 30+ successful years in the roles of graphic designer, technical writer/illustrator, product photographer/retoucher, advertising mgr., marketing services mgr., sr. creative director, creative services freelancer, fine art photographer/workshop leader and book editor, I hold a BFA cum Laude in communications and fine art from the University of Minnesota.
