FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The $280 hourly amount shown on this profile reflects the standard rate for mediation session time. It applies to the session as a whole, not separately to each person, and is not an estimate of the total cost of a flat-fee divorce mediation process. Most divorce mediation matters are offered through flat-fee pricing. The total fee accounts for both mediation time and the administrative and preparation work needed to support the process. Pricing varies based on the scope and complexity of the decisions involved. Before mediation begins, both people receive a clear explanation of the recommended process, what is included and the total expected fee. A complimentary connection call is available to discuss your situation and determine whether mediation may be appropriate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a brief connection call to discuss what is happening, answer questions about mediation and determine whether the process may be appropriate for your situation. If both people decide to move forward, the mediation process provides a structured way to identify and work through the decisions that need to be made. Depending on the situation, those may include property and finances, parenting, child support, spousal maintenance and other separation or divorce decisions. Both people are given room to be heard while the conversation remains practical and continues moving toward workable decisions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an experienced Minnesota family mediator, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) and Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice. My background includes extensive training in family mediation, conflict resolution and the financial issues involved in separation and divorce. I have completed more than 300 mediations and continue to pursue specialized education related to family decision-making, finances and constructive conflict resolution. This combination of training and practical experience helps me support both the human and financial sides of divorce while remaining neutral by helping people have difficult conversations, understand the decisions in front of them and work toward agreements without bringing my own agenda into the room.
