I am 28 and have never touched a violin in my life previous to my first lesson with Marissa! I have always wanted to learn how to play violin but also heard that it was difficult to learn- Marissa helped to make this amazingly beautiful instrument accessible, even for a late starter like me. She is a wonderful instructor and gives clear learning objectives and skills to practice in between lessons, and is astute with correcting form for the beginner while forming good habits. She's also a really lovely human who is patient, and passionate about sharing her love of music with her students. Also just a note, I travel a lot, and she offered continuous support and instruction over skype which I thought was so cool! I definitely recommend Marissa as an excellent instructor, great for brand new beginners to this lovely instrument and music theory in general, learning with her has really allowed me to take away skills to practice and good habits to be aware of!
