Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We do more wedding photography than studio photography, but we are having success with our home studio business. We have increased our clientele in both areas and we love weddings but we are seeking to perform more in the studio field than weddings because the difference between studio and weddings is the personal factor. You can strike up a better relationship with clients in studio photography rather than weddings even though weddings are a great way to meet people and interact with potential clients and get great pictures!! I love photography regardless of if I am shooting weddings, portraits or still objects!
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. We have been busy with Weddings! The last wedding was in Wisconsin and it was way fun! Very unique and fun for the entire family. They had cow ropin instead of tapping the glass to make them kiss! LOL The kids took that over, didn't think they would be able to stop kissing! Fun games great pictures!
Our other weddings are so different from each other and our clients are great to work with! We love it!
We had a family session and our friend/ client, she had a great idea for her darling new addition to the family, she wanted him in his tonka truck, it was so fun! Look for the pictures!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Just go with your gut! The pictures and the person speaks for themselves. Photography is an expressions of our art and the way we see you! And you are beautiful!!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. OOOHHH, I will be honest here. Photography requires skill and experience. These days anyone and everyone can get a pro camera and anyone can well see the cheat screen and take bad or good pictures." But a real artist sees the end result and makes it happen, its an art.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Ask for their resume, for us we have been in business for 4 years, 1 year of schooling and practice. But I grew up with a camera in my hand!! Thank you teachers who care and were paid well then with smaller classes! See, teachers do make a difference, we need them!
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. We are always reasonable with our rates. We understand that everyone is on a budget these days, so are we! But, we will not be under sold either. Would you work for less then the minimum wage? If not, then we hope you wouldn't expect your photographers to do so either? We put time and effort in each image we take and give you. Our day doesn't end when the wedding day is done, we do work on a LOT of images through out the weeks following. We've noticed over the course of the "digital" years, unfortnantly our clients are mislead to think that our job ends when the wedding ends and there is little editing to be done. It's easy right, no more film? That is far from fact! "All day weddings" take an average of 2 solid weeks working 40 hours. Not including photo albums, storybook dvd's etc! There is much time to give you memories to last forever, after all that is priceless! :)
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Unlike most photographers, we are a family owned business. It all stays with our family. We have 3 photographers, husband and wife and son. We also, have been in business for 5 years. We strive to fit anyone's budget. And you always get the experience without breaking the bank!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. We love being photographers. We love to be apart of someones happiest day of their lives. We love to capture every memory, so you can look back with joy! That's why we love our job!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That we are very affordable. The quality of work that we provide to our clients is only enhanced by the fact that we are a family business and that we are southern folks with the southern hospitality and southern twang to go with it!! When you hire us for your special moment, we know how important it is and we strive to enhance the moments with joy and laughter. We love our job..we love our clients.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. My wife.. she has been a Photographer since she was in junior high! Over 20 years experience. She is my inspiriation! Its such a blessing to be able to take pictures. She can no longer do weddings because of health. So my son and I take the torch. She does however is involved and does portriat sessions.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I recently did a baptism for an Arabian family. The little girl was so adorable. They were such nice people and when they had the after party, the dancing and music was spectacular. We had a blast! It was our first baptism and it was a night to remember!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, I do. I am always on the ever expanding world of knowledge uploaded onto You Tube everyday! That's my school! You can learn anything dealing with photography that you can't find out on your own experience and hobby skills. I love that because it allows you to brush up on any new skills such as HDR and all that new-age DSLR stuff that is around with this new generation of photography. We are currently seeking to get back into film photography. Keeping it true and real to the core. And why not...film is the best..and if you shoot film and succeed then you are a beast with the camera and that's what is up!
Q. What are you currently working on improving?
A. We are currently working to have more animals that are family friendly at our hobby farm/ studio. Such as a Alpaca, baby goats, we have horses and chickens already as well as barn kitties! We want to have a rabbit also for the kiddies to play with when we are taking their pictures! Animals make a kids day and not only that you are getting really good pictures and making a day of it for the parents! How awesome is that! Animals are a great way to make pictures enjoyable..pictures that hold memories for you but also let you remember that day as fun..and not torturous like most photo settings with squirmy little ones!
