St. Louis -St. Charles Drum Lessons
About this pro
I have had the pleasure of knowing Chuck Smotherson for the better part of a year now, and performing with him in a professional music situation. He is extremely dedicated, knowledgeable, and also a fine person. His musical knowledge is deep, and his communication skills are excellent. I can't recommend Chuck highly enough as an instructor.Apr 24, 2015
Charles and I performed together both in our high school and college bands. In our high school marching band we both played the snare drum and even though I was fairly good, Charles took my playing heights to a whole new level. It is something that I would never forget and I carried it all the way through my college career. Chuck is very patient and concise in his method of teaching and he did not give up on me until I got it. Either if it was just our snare feature (that Charles came up with.) or just a part in the written music that I may have had trouble with he made sure I learned and understood the criteria needed and when I needed to have it. I can say that Charles " Chuck" helped me in to wanting to become better percussionist and have the desire to pursue a career in music. Keep doing what you're doing ChucKK! You will be an awesome instructor. "I'm not a drummer. I'm a percussionist" -nobodyApr 21, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My prices start at $35/hr.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have not done any continued education in my field, however I do plan to get my 2nd Masters Degree in Music Performance (Percussion emphasis).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I decided to start teaching during my experience as a college drum major. I never really thought about teaching seriously until that point in my life. It not only taught me how to teach other people but also opened my eyes to how I look at music vs how other people look at music.
