- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do my education by reading some of my father's old books actually. He worked for Eastman Kodak and has an amazing library. I also read from some of the other great photographers on the true classic craft of photography from the lense to the darkroom. I want to insure my work incorporates the elements of the "old" world craft. And, I do college lectures and other lectures that are available on YouTube by some of the most incredible photographers of our time. My other precious time is spent in the field with my camera, tripod and a lot of batteries.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After a long career at HP as an high end national manager in marketing and sales I started a marketing company. I also started a full time hobby as a photographer, beginning to hone my craft. Coming from a long line of photographers, my father being a master photographer, it has always been a passion. Everyone said I should sell my work. People started asking me to take their pictures and it took off from their. I prefer to take pictures of "things" more than portraits.
