I am stationed overseas, so all my contact has been via email. We agreed to a specific price and specific work. Clayton required payment in advance, as I could not be there to pay him on the day he did the work as my home leave had not started. He did a good job removing a tree and trimming some limbs, but failed to remove the brush as we had agreed. On home leave, I saw that and contacted him. I received "honest mistake" and "busy but get to it this week" and "I'm not blowing you off it's not my style" to various emails. I had to return to my post...the work still to be done. He no longer responds to email. It is now 2 months since he started the job, a month since I returned to post and it is still unfinished and it is obvious he has no intention of finishing it. I hate leaving negative reviews, and Clayton appears to have skills, based on the part he did complete, but I would NOT pay him in advance and I would NOT pay him at all until every aspect of his work can be seen and verified. My complaint is not about his skill as that seems good, it is about his integrity...living up to his promise and his word, and 8 weeks is more than long enough to wait for someone to pick up a brush pile.

C&H removed 6 shrubs, cleaned out area and re landscaped with mulch and rock. They also moved a boulder to a new location. They were fast, knew what they were doing and completed the job as stated. As well, they contributed to the creativity of the job to make the project better in the end. I purchased all materials ahead of time as I knew what I wanted so that wasn't an issue. I just didn't get enough but the project is easily completed now that the heavy lifting is done. Toughly recommend C&H.
