We were upgrading the doorbell transformer to get our doorbell chime to work with a video doorbell. We purchased the transformer ourselves and had First Choice install it. Everything was overall smooth. They responded quickly and were able to come out quickly. So quick in fact that they were also quick to leave when they were done. They didn't have us turn the power back on and check that everything was working well.We set the video doorbell up and turned everything on. The chime still did not work and in fact now had a low, very annoying hum to it. We called and asked what was going on. First Choice said that "oh yeah that transformer won't work with the chime you have. You need a different chime." Well thanks for telling us! We called a professional because we are not electricians. You'd think they would have told us that the thing we asked them install to get our video doorbell working with our existing chime WOULD NOT WORK! Instead they just installed it and cashed our $200+ check. They offered to fix or install a new chime... for ANOTHER $200+. Yeah, no thanks.

From our records, it appears there might have been a slight misunderstanding about the scope of the initial task. On May 3rd, our electrician arrived at your premises with the understanding that we were replacing the 'doorbell transformer' as per your request and as agreed in our contract. We appreciate your confidence in choosing us to install the component you provided. The very next day, May 4th, we received your call about the chime not working after you independently installed the video doorbell. We want to assure you that our team did not intentionally hurry off before ensuring the system was functioning; it was under the impression that the installation of the remaining components would be done by you. Nonetheless, we understand your concerns about the door chime's compatibility with the new transformer. In hindsight, we acknowledge that we could have communicated more explicitly about possible compatibility issues between different components, even if they were not part of our assigned task. We regret any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused you. We returned on May 5th, at no additional cost, in an attempt to diagnose and rectify the issue. Our goal is to ensure your satisfaction, and we stand ready to assist further if required. We understand that DIY projects have their challenges, and we commend your initiative. However, we would like to remind our valued customers that we are always available for consultations to ensure that all components are compatible and installed correctly. Once again, we appreciate your feedback and will utilize it to improve our communication with customers going forward. We hope we can regain your trust and have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
