FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees for training start at $60.00 for an initial session, but I am willing to work with those on a budget. I do offer a sliding scale based on the client's income and level of need. The first session is always longer.. about 90 minutes. Follow-up sessions are an hour (minimum). *Overnight (24 hour) Boarding: 60.00 per night, *Will work out discounts for extended stays... 6 or more days in perpetuity. I charge 20.00 per additional dog.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always take time to hear the client out, from their own perspective, as to what they believe is going on with their dog or cat.. I then take time to observe interactions, during which I may ask a few questions about habits and tendencies to better grasp the situation and relationship between dog and human. What we do next is largely contingent on my observations and information given. A typical first session lasts about 90 minutes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a vet tech for sometime here in MO, then as a handler for a Wolf rescue group in Colorado while in college, and then spent 12 years working as owner/operator of Falsa to Fido, a small business on the upper west side of Manhattan in NYC devoted to Canine and Feline care, traing (behaviour modification and reconditioning as well as basic obedience), in-home boarding and daily walking and sitting. I am comfortable helping the client with their pets' medication needs or other special issues, including grooming and general clean-up.
