FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk. I want to get to know my clients. I need to understand who they are so I can help form a visualization of their goals, and how they can become a reality. It's incredible how rarely I ever have to do revisions. By the time I truly begin on a project I generally have a very solid understanding of what my clients not only want, but what they need. The two are not always the same. You have to get to know people to understand both.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Having been home schooled as a child, I developed a wildly rebellious nature when it comes to standardized education. I don't have certificates or a degree, but I have read more vast amounts of literature on several subjects and topics. Essentially whatever it is I need to learn I set out with the same drive I have for my work until I feel thoroughly educated on the content. I am self taught, and I am very proud of that.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
All of it stemmed from my love of literature. That's what set me down this path. I wrote a book, I got signed. One thing lead to another and I ended up working for the publishing company as an editor. I fell in love with the graphics our lead artist created and she was very generous in teaching me and guiding me to places I could learn more. Next thing I knew it I was doing the photography for book covers, handling web graphics and marketing designs. When I made the personal choice to leave publishing, I kept all of my passions and simply redirected them and allowed myself more opportunity to work in several fields of industry.
