So glad I hired Nigel Mills to install a fence around my house and he also installed flooring in my living room and bedrooms. He is very knowledgeable and easily accessible while the work is being done. His crew that installed the fence were very professional. When the job was completed, the work site was clean and they left my yard as if they were never there. Would hire them again. I'm already making a list of things I would like them to do in the future!

Mr. Mills used deceptive tactics and lied to avoid putting anything in writing and did not complete the site restoration as agreed. He was hired to pour a 2,800 square foot driveway extension. The concrete work was actually quite good. The concrete crew was very good taking time to match existing slab elevations, establish proper slopes, and lay the concrete with skill. Mr. Mills committed to rebuild a gate and grade the soil around the new concrete. This was a significant factor in selecting Mills Construction over lower bidders. The crew he sent over to do the soil restoration showed up without shovels or a tractor. They borrowed my shovels and only did about 1/3 of the job. They rehung the old gate instead of rebuilding it and left without drilling the hole in the concrete for the center cane bolt. Mr Mills committed to send them back the next day. It has been three days without them showing up or contacting me. Mr. Mills did not honor his quote price and overcharged for the extra 250 square feet I added during setting the forms. He sent the form setter over without him and had him start work before he failed to bring a contract. Then he strung me along with lies about providing a contract. He put me in a position of having to figure out he was lying about producing a contract soon enough to stop them from working to force the issue. He even deceived me about an invoice by having me witness him email it to me. It didn't show up the first time and he did not send it when i asked for it again. I realize I was a fool for letting him string me along on the contract and invoice and I was more of a fool for paying him before he completely finished the site restoration. I assume his goal was to get overpaid without a paper trail for the IRS. He accomplished his goal. At least we are quite happy with the concrete and it was put in quickly. With the lack of a contract, I am probably lucky to have only been asked to pay 10% above his quote. It is sad that I was almost a happy customer. I don't know if Thumbtack will publish this review but I suggest you at least drop Mills Construction from your contractor list. Their all too common deceptive business practices reflect on Thumbtack and make me a bit reluctant to try your services again.
