FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was in High School and in the band, I knew that I was destined to be a teacher of some sort. I also wanted to be a performer. That wasn't something that teaching would co-opt but rather aid. Music, whether is was flute, piano, organ, or voice has always been who I am. Drama only magnifies this. Sharing what I know to those I teach is the greatest gift I can give to myself.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Call me and we can talk and decide it I am the correct instructor that you seek. Not all teachers are a good fit and a conversation will work out the differences and set up an atmosphere for building a rapport.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Teaching voice and theater is not JUST a Fine Arts job. There is much more to it than that. In my studio they learn how to treat people. Oh, not that I am becoming a parent to them, but I DO listen to their gripes and groans and help them along the way. This IS, after all, TEACHING. If you do it right, you are tired at the end of the day. Sure, maybe you haven't been lifting 50 lb sacks of concrete, or dealing with an irate customer, but YOU HAVE given all you have inside to the student you needed you. We teach from our insides out without holding back a drop of anything.
